When it comes to superhero action movies, the Marvel franchise is pretty much up there with the best of them. So far we have not had to endure a duff Marvel film and each offering in the series has been just as exciting as the last. Avengers: Age of Ultron is the sequel to the 2012 film, The Avengers. So what can we expect from Avengers: Age of Ultron?
Ultron is the film’s super villain, but rather than being an egomaniacal psychopath, Ultron starts off as an artificial intelligence peace-keeping program devised by Tony Stark in the wake of the dismantling of S.H.I.E.L.D. Unfortunately the program takes on a life of its own and decides that humankind needs eradicating.
With a bloodbath imminent, the Avengers are called back into action and Iron Man, the Hulk, Hawkeye, Thor, Captain America and friends line up to fight back against Ultron and save mankind in the process. It’s fast, loud, exciting and full of special effects. There is also plenty of humour in the film and we get to learn more about the characters and their back story, as well as meeting some new characters for the first time: twins Pietro and Wanda Maximoff.
All of the Avenger’s characters are larger than life in more ways than one, but none more so than the Hulk. Bruce Banner’s alter ego is green, mean and more muscular than Popeye on a spinach-only diet. He also has larger than life teeth, so prosthetics (as well as an awful lot of green body paint) were needed to ensure the Hulk looked the part.
If the Avengers: Age of Ultron movie sounds like your thing (and there can’t be many people who don’t want to see the film!), you won’t have to wait too much longer. The film is set for a May 2015 release, so make a date in your diary and get the pop corn ready!
